Investor Group Comments On Results Of Special Meeting Of Texas Pacific Land Trust
Out of the 7,756,156 shares outstanding on the record date, a total of 3,660,812 shares voted for the election of Eric Oliver(including shares voted through Broadridge). We have been advised by Broadridge that a total of 1,994,267 shares were voted in favor of the election of General Donald Cook.
Although TPL’s representatives present at the meeting noted that they did not recognize the validity of the special meeting, we hope and expect, in light of the overwhelming support in favor of the election of Eric Oliver, that David Barry and John Norris will welcome Eric Oliver as a fellow trustee and work with him collaboratively to create value for all shareholders. It is time to move forward.
The claiming victory press release makes a comment about saying its time to put this fight behind everyone and work together. With this vote margin the two trustees would be smart to give up and play nice, and be open to Oliver’s ideas. What they next do will show their intent. HK has shown they can deliver the votes, and a recall election could be called for by anyone owning 5% of the shares.
If I was a losing trustee, I would throw a bbq with Eric and my former combatants to show the civil war is over. Break out the 20 year whisky. Drop the bogus lawsuit, and move forward.
Otherwise, with a 2-1 margin for Oliver, it looks like they are poor losers and obstructionists….which they have been, but they need to change or go extinct.

Agreed. Although this is a stunning loss, it is not an altogether unexpected one. The trustees were outmaneuvered at every turn. I would advise them to lick their wounds, smoke the peace pipe and undertake the tough job of reconciling with Mr. Oliver and Horizon Kinetics. I will take a dim view of any further antics, either in the courtroom or otherwise.

Amen to both. I would suggest that they both resign though for their lack of acting in the fiduciary interests of us shareholders.

The trustees are doubling down…..and rejecting the meeting today.

The trustees disgust me. They need to be removed. They only pretend to be fudiciary responsible. We need management with real skin in the game.
All of what people have shared in their own research in these comments has only helped reconfirm my own views. I think with real manaement TPL will be even more incredible. Management and trustees need to go.
I expect that we will see a lot of evidence of their self serving crooked way. Thanks

Let the judge figure it out. It’s the shareholders Trust not the corrupt Trustees and Managers

Are the current Trustees buying as much time as possible so they can make sure they shred all the evidence of their self-serving antics? It is becoming increasing clear the current Trustees are corrupt. We need a counter suit against the Trustees, and force them to answer the questions that were asked of them from Team White. Yes, this will cause possible short term pain for us shareholders, and cost us money, but if the end result is that these 2 guys are removed as Trustees, it will be worth it for the long term health of the Trust.
The other things that really bothers me is that General Cook is sticking with these 2 corrupt guys. It is a complete contradiction that he is FOR good corporate governance and transparency, and at the same time is supporting these stewards of bad corporate governance and no transparency. Have to say, don’t think so highly of him anymore.

I guess tha they didn’t read Eric Oliver’s questionnaire reply dated Monday to their May 16th demand. They claim that he didn’t respond which is patently a lie. Let the court get them under oath. There’s something criminal going on here.

If this is an annual general meeting and if Horizon et all received twice as many votes as the incumbents , Horizon et all is the legitimate winner and the sooner this is recognized the better !
